December 8 – Spread the Love
written by chompermom on Dec 08, 2009
Give a little, give a lot. As long as it comes from the heart.
December is a popular time for charities and giving donations. Why? It’s the last chance for individuals and businesses to make a donation to take off their taxes for the year (I’d rather give my money to charity than the government, too). It’s a time when the holiday spirit takes over and we feel like we should give back. And it’s a time when we want to take care of people, especially the poor and homeless, because it’s cold outside in many parts of the world. It’s a time that traditionally centers around food, children, gifts and family. If someone is missing any or all of those things, we want to help them out, cheer them up.
I know a lot of you have a cause that you’re involved in. And there are a lot of personal reasons why. So what charity do you support? What’s your story? Why is it important to you? And how can others help out? Why should we? Tell me everything!

A cause that I’m really passionate about is WWOOFing. It’s not a money-donation cause. But it’s a cause about real people and good food – with all that means.
WWOOFing has enabled our family to stay together and have a place to live when we had nothing. It brought us together with some of he best friends we’ve ever known, it taught us a lot, and it created some great memories.
You can find out more about WWOOFing including resources, stories, and tips on my other website: TheNewsBase.com
